奈良市 友好都市・西安市ビジネスミッション訪問プログラムへ。
固定概念や私の中の常識というものを、桁違いのスケールで、それはそれは爽やかに覆してくれた機会でした。

百聞は一見に如かずといいますが、まさにこのことで。
1300年前、かつての遣唐使たちが、未知への期待と不安を抱えながら
どれほどの決意をもってこの地を目指したんだろうか・・・
そう思うとなんだかぐっとくるものがあります。

その強い思いを現代に繋ぎ、偏見や差別のない、ひらかれた世界を目指す
＜現代版遣唐使＞の役割を果たす必要性も感じています。

首都北京では、JETRO北京事務所にお邪魔し
中国市場の最新動向と日中ビジネス環境について貴重な情報交換の場は、ただただ興味深く。
市場の規模と変化の速さを改めて肌で感じました。
本場の北京ダックは、衝撃的なおいしさです！

奈良市とは50年以上の友好都市関係にある西安では
関係者の皆さまによる温かい歓迎セレモニーに参加し、関係強化の重要性を再認識。
経済・産業視察に加え、日中の文化・歴史的な絆も深く体感。

世界を圧する秦始皇兵馬俑博物館のスケール、
そして夜の西安城壁のライトアップは、
長安として栄えた古都の威容と文化の深さを改めて感じ、
中日友好のシンボル・阿倍仲麻呂記念碑では現代における交流の意義を深く感じることができました。

公園では、太極拳やダンス、お歌など
さまざまなコミュニティーが形成されていて
思い思いに過ごしているシニア層のみなさんがキラキラしていて。

健康ってステキ、みなさんがとってもあたたかくて優しかった！

よく、どこ行っても最高においしかった‼︎と
目を輝かせて帰国してくるね！と言われますが
味と香りと食感はどれだけ検索してもわからないから。
世界三大料理といわれる中国料理は、まだまだ奥が深そうです。

Initial business mission program to Xi’an,
the sister city of Nara, in China.
This visit completely and refreshingly overturned my preconceptions and internal “common sense” with its staggering scale. Truly, seeing is believing.

As I stood there, I couldn’t help but wonder about the feelings of the Japanese Envoys to Tang China (Kentōshi) 1300 years ago—the immense determination they must have carried, mixed with anticipation and anxiety for the unknown, as they set sail for this very land. That powerful sense of history gives me chills.

I feel the urgent need to carry that profound commitment into the present, fulfilling the role of a Modern Kentōshi to pursue an open world free of prejudice and discrimination.

In the capital city of Beijing, we visited the JETRO Beijing Office and had an invaluable exchange on the latest trends in the Chinese market and the current Sino-Japanese business environment. It was simply fascinating. I truly grasped the scale and speed of change in the market firsthand.
And, oh, the authentic Beijing Duck was unbelievably delicious!

In Xi’an, which has enjoyed over 50 years of sister-city relations with Nara, we participated in a warm welcome ceremony hosted by local officials, reaffirming the importance of strengthening our ties.
In addition to economic and industrial site visits, we deeply experienced the cultural and historical bonds between Japan and China. The sheer scale of the world-class Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor (Terracotta Army) and the beautiful nighttime illumination of the Xi’an City Wall reaffirmed the majesty and cultural depth of the ancient capital, Chang’an. At the Abe no Nakamaro Memorial Monument, a symbol of Sino-Japanese friendship, we felt the profound significance of our current-day exchange.

In the parks, various communities were formed—practicing Tai Chi, dancing, singing—and the senior citizens spending their time so vibrantly were truly shining. Health is wonderful! Everyone was so warm and kind!

People often tell me I return from trips with sparkling eyes, saying “Everything was the absolute best!” But the truth is, I can’t search for taste, aroma, and texture online.
Chinese cuisine, one of the world’s three great cuisines, still holds so much mystery.
